About the Golden Gate Opera

Golden Gate Opera believes that Opera is for Everyone!

Golden Gate Opera produces professional, international opera to enlighten, enrich and inspire our community to a better life, through the myriad of fine arts found in opera. GGO has brought the return of professional opera to Marin Center’s stage since 2005 after a 20 year absence of that art form in Marin. GGO brings opera up-close and personal with exclusive “Aria Parties” in supporter’s homes. The company provides live opera as special event presents for mother or father birthdays, or other special occasions; Free Outdoor performances for the public; Opera in the Schools for K-12 children (2008-9 school year shows include Carmen, Cinderella and Hansel and Gretel); and Fully Staged, professional international level opera at Marin Center!

Golden Gate Opera is a 501 © (3) Not for profit company with Federal Tax ID 94-3221096. Community support makes it all happen, from tax-deductible donations from companies, foundations and individuals, to contributions of expertise by our volunteers and by attending the opera in the audience. Donate, Volunteer, Attend are central to the ongoing year-round work maintaining the opera company in Marin.
